Emmi Kilgallen is an aspiring and dedicated illustrator. Born and raised in Melrose, Massachusetts, they currently reside in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania studying for their BFA in Illustration at Moore College of Art and Design.
They've always had a deep admiration for the creative arts- whether it be art, music, or theater, ever since childhood. They love to let that appreciation influence their work and are sure to show their passion through every piece produced.
Coming from a mixed Irish-Italian and Japanese background, they identify deeply with themes of self-image, family, and connection. They love to include touches of their personal life, heritage and upbringing to honor their roots and enhance their work.
Both digital and traditional, their work focuses heavily on telling stories through the piece. Be it a poster, a label, or a narrative piece, they love hiding meaning in everything they can. They also like to use their work to conceptualize ideas around self, identity, and childhood.
